Sterile Processing Technician/Central Service Technician

Central Service Technicians work in the hub of the hospital to provide essential services in preparing, sterilizing, cleaning and distributing laboratory or healthcare equipment and supplies.  

Important Qualities

Attention to detail: Must be detailed and thorough in completing work tasks.

Dependability: Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable, in fulfilling obligations.

Cooperation: Must be pleasant with others on the job and display a good-natured, cooperative attitude. 

Independence: Must be able to develop one's own ways of doing things, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done. 

Stress tolerance: Must be able to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations. 

Course Length:

  • Career Readiness Training: 1 week
  • Pre-Training: 1 week
  • Central Service Technician Skills Training: 6 weeks
  • Central Service Technician Clinical Training: To Be Determined
  • Total Training: To Be Determined

Potential Starting Wage: $13.45 per hour
