Imaginative play is a way for your toddler to develop important skills that help them to understand how the world around them works!

When your little one pretends, they are experimenting with the social and emotional roles of life.  Playing pretend also allows them to solve problems. Whether it is deciding which role to play between friends or searching for the right materials for their pretend world – these opportunities help prepare your child with the thinking skills they’ll need for their future.

Help your toddler engage in imaginative play by pretending lots of different scenarios together! Show an interest in your child’s pretend world by accepting imaginary cups of tea, or answering imaginary phone calls, but let them be in charge of the story they are creating.
