Talk in the KitchenMay 01, 2018
Your child can learn the meaning of many new words when you spend time talking and cooking together in the kitchen! Your little one is constantly making connections with the things they experience around them.
When you are in the kitchen together, allow them to touch and smell new foods. Ask them how something feels to help them learn to describe what they’re feeling. You can also introduce new textures to your child by talking about the way things feel and showing them different textures.
You can also talk about the way food tastes together to help expand their vocabulary. Ask them if their fruit it sweet, juicy or sour. By talking about these everyday experiences together, you are teaching them new words!
